My Blog - The Bahrain Grand Prix

So it's the fourth race of the 2012 FIA Formula One World Championship and we're in Bahrain.

I've been watching the practice sessions today (with the superior BBC commentary team led by Ben Edwards) and it looks as though once again Mercedes have the edge over the rest of the field.

Nico Rosberg is proving once again he is a first class driver and like Nigel Mansell did in 1985, he could follow up his first GP win for another the following race.

Ferrari once again look off the pace and Fernando Alonso has been driving the pants off the car. If the Scuderia give him a decent car then you can rest assured knowing that Fernando will win the title for sure.

McLaren don't look quite as good around Bahrain as they did in the last few GPs with Jenson Button in particular struggling. He told the BBC that he was not happy with his car this weekend.

"The times haven't been good all day,"

"On one lap the Mercedes seems very quick and the Red Bull seems very strong here and on the longer runs, forgetting the lap times.

"I don't feel very happy with the balance of the car and the direction we have gone in."

It should be yet another thrilling race and I look forward to watching on Sunday. Here's hoping that Sky Sports F1's lead commentator David Croft has improved since his dismal performance in Australia. I'm not holding out much hope.
